OUTER HEBRIDES WILDLIFE EXHIBITION
An Lanntair, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis
20 June to 28 July 2023

As part of the Outer Hebrides Wildlife Festival, RSPB Outer Hebrides have asked local artists and photographers to showcase artwork based on the local wildlife of the islands. Through art and photography, we can get a glimpse of the identifying features of the birds and wildlife that live around us and a chance to think about how wonderful and magnificent they are, one of the reasons the Outer Hebrides Wildlife Festival was established.

'Araichneachd Alainn'
Environment Centre

Environment Exhibition at Old Lochmaddy School
Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from Saturday 24th June between 1pm and 4pm.

An interactive exhibition dedicated to the ongoing story of these environmentally dynamic islands on ‘the edge’ and their distinctive natural heritage.
Wall panels and AVs introduce the many and varied parts of our magnificent natural heritage from the encircling seas and marine wildlife to the character of the land itself, its international importance for migratory birds and its local ‘specials’ including our famous machair wildflowers that are supported by islanders’ continued use of sustainable crofting practices.
Hands-on specimens illustrate the long-running story of some of Europe’s oldest rocks, showcase our roughly 400-million-year-old geological rarities and recount the shaping of the Outer Isles across three billion years of earth history.
The exhibition will be open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from Saturday 24th June between 1pm and 4pm.
