SHOAL: Exhibition

Ceann na h-Àirigh & Grimsay Boat Haven, Grimsay

A SHOAL of knitted herring have swum their way from the Scottish Fisheries Museum to Grimsay! The knitted fish were contributed to the Knitting the Herring project by participants all over the World and can be seen in Grimsay Boat Haven this summer. Learn more: https://scottishgansey.org.uk

The launch event for the exhibition takes place on Friday 24 June at 6pm with the exhibition open Monday to Friday 10am to 1.30pm until the end of August.

GRIMSAY MOORLAND WALK

Meet at Ceann na h-Àirigh, Grimsay

Monday 27 June at 4pm

Price: £5 or £15 for family ticket

Duration: 1.5 hours - 2hrs

Terrain: Easy

A short, gentle walk to explore the wildlife and beautiful wildflowers of our moors. Learn about the natural history and special features of our peatlands, and the habitats and wildflowers they support. We will be walking on both made roads and un-made tracks, so please wear sturdy footwear and dress appropriately for the weather.

BIRD OF PREY WALK

Friday 01 July at 6pm

Price: £5 or £15 for a family ticket

Duration: 1-2hrs

A short, gentle walk to explore the habitats and wildlife of Grimsay. Our island is home to many birds of prey, and with luck we may spot some during our walk. We will be walking on both made roads and un-made tracks, so please wear sturdy footwear, dress appropriately for the weather and bring binoculars if you have them.

Grimsay Litter Pick

Duration: 2hrs

Terrain: Rough terrain, stout footwear recommended.
